Providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow

We follow a British curriculum comprising the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Montessori education.

Welcome from the Headteacher

We are here to help parents raise happy and healthy children

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Suzie Rose Nursery and Preschool.

We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow in all aspects of their lives, and recognize that learning through play allows children to naturally thrive. Our curriculum encourages children to exceed their potential by providing relevant, challenging and fun learning experiences.

Our belief that early childhood education is the most important stage in a child’s life is embodied by our qualified and dedicated staff members, who inspire the children to develop their interests and talents through creative educational activities. Furthermore, our beautiful school facilities provide a fun environment for children to explore their boundaries and limits through imaginative play.

We invite you to visit us, and are delighted to have your child join our school.

Karibu!

Early Year

Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework

The EYFS Framework is an evidence-based learning approach which draws on how children learn and use various skills.

The prime areas that form the foundation for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relationships and thriving are:
01

Communication and Language

Children’s interactions with adults and peers from an early age form the foundation for language and cognitive development. The quality of spoken language is important and includes engagement in story- telling, poems, rhymes and new vocabulary

04

Literacy

Reading is fundamental to a child’s long-term success, and consists of language comprehension which develops through conversation with adults (story- telling, poems); skilled word reading (adults help children to decode and understand written word); writing (spelling and handwriting) and composition (articulating ideas and structuring them in speech).

07

Expressive Arts and Design

Children’s imagination and creativity is developed when they are exposed to art, music and culture. It is important for them to interact with different forms of arts in order to develop their self- expression and communication skills.

02

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

It is important to support children to manage their emotions through positive modelling such as peaceful conflict resolution, delayed gratification (turn-taking and patience) and goal setting, while at the same time improving their self- confidence by ensuring that their needs are met through positive reinforcement of their achievements.

05

Maths

It is important for children to develop a strong foundation in numbers for long- term success in mathematics and sciences. This involves being able to count in order, understand how numbers interact with each other, and apply numbers to all areas of mathematics including shape, space and measures.

03

Physical Development

Physical activity enables children to improve their gross and fine motor skills as well as learning their boundaries and their body’s limits confidently. Children are guided through indoor and outdoor sensory activities which develop hand- eye co-ordination, balance, stability and positional awareness.

06

Understanding the World

This involves teaching children to understand the world around them through their own personal experiences while at the same time exposing them to places such as museums, parks and introducing them to members of society who hold various job positions. This enables children to build their knowledge of culture, technology and ecology.

We welcome kids into our 2-4’s program based on their birth year.
